Helen Weaver (born 1931, Madison, Wisconsin) is an American writer and translator. She has translated over fifty books from French. ''Antonin Artaud: Selected Writings'' (Farrar, Straus and Giroux ) was a Finalist for the National Book Award in translation in 1976. She is co-author and general editor of the ''Larousse Enyclopedia of Astrology'' and author of ''The Daisy Sutra'', a book on animal communication. She recently wrote a memoir entitled ''The Awakener: A Memoir of Kerouac and the Fifties'' (City Lights, 2009) ISBN 978-0-87286-505-1.〔http://www.helenweaver.com/?page_id=14〕 ==Biography== Helen Weaver grew up in Scarsdale, New York. Her father, Warren Weaver, was a distinguished scientist, author, and world traveler who was Director of Natural Sciences at the Rockefeller Foundation for twenty-seven years.
